Sub-Acute Rehabilitation, seven days a week.

Somers Manor Nursing Home offers an intensive physical rehabilitation program providing an aggressive therapy regimen designed to meet the needs and ability of each resident. We offer individualized cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, neurological and geriatric rehabilitation programs.
Most of the residents receiving therapy services stay in the Berkshire Wing, our dedicated
thirty-nine bed short-term rehabilitation unit.

All members of the therapy staff are fully registered, certified and/or licensed by the state of New York Department of Education. The rehabilitation department currently has five physical therapy staff, four occupational therapy staff, one speech & language pathology staff and four rehabilitation aides. We maintain this high ratio of staff to residents in order to ensure that each rehab patient receives the personal care and attention that he/she requires and deserves.

Somers Manor has two fully equipped rehabilitation gyms to meet the needs of each resident.

       Rehabilitation Interventions include:

activities of daily living training functional mobility training gait training therapeutic exercises neuromuscular reeducation wound care
